The Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender (VLV) is the world’s biggest rockabilly party and has been running strong for 17 years. As rockabilly enthusiasts from around the world gear up for its 18th incarnation starting on April 2, the festival continues to grow. It has reached the point where it’s simply impossible to see and do everything without a teleporter and/or a time machine. So how are you going to figure out which bands you want to see from the 60+ that will be playing over 4 days? Well, we’ve got a helpful roadmap for you. Next week’s episode of Good Rockin’ Tonight will have as many bands as we can get our hands on to help you decide who you want to see. This will be a monstrous episode, likely to run between 2 and 3 hours, so we’ll be putting it out on Tuesday, March 24 to give you extra time to digest who you want to check out at VLV. Enjoy!
Sorry to announce, but this weekend was a doozy and in all the hubbub, Psycho Radio got overlooked. We’ll have a brand new episode tomorrow.

After touring the world on the release of 2010’s Signs and Signifiers, Oklahoma’s JD McPherson has become one of the biggest names in roots rock & roll. The world’s greatest horror rock band, the brothers Calabrese, are dropping a new record! If their last few efforts are any indication, this one should be a doozy. Calabrese came stomping out of Phoenix, AZ in 2003, dragging their giant, stomping riffs, unbelievably catchy melodies and fantastic sing-along choruses with them. This new record will be their sixth, and it’s available for preorder at Spookshow Records. You can check out the title track here:
The Blackrats have been one of the most exciting new bands to come out of Canada for their entire short history. Their ability to mix horror with r&b and keep the house rockin’ is astounding and stories of their live shows are remarkable throughout their home town of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Hallowe’en 2014 marked the release of their newest album, their second full-length, entitled Shake Your Brain. It’s available now from the band themselves or through Tacoma, Washington’s Splatterhouse Wreckords. Preview or buy the album here.
